Pokemon Cake

This cake is for a very special boy! My nephew Zion! He turns 8 tomorrow and we're getting our bowl on and the Antelope Lanes in PV! Goodtimes!

More is ALWAYS better!

Who can resist spending the day baking and decorating with my 2 favorite little people! My children have grown so much and although at times I could really use a mute button :) they are the Best!! Our completed works of Art!! And as my title states the more toppings the better! These puppies can give you a sugar high in .3 seconds! Seriously! I just love the colors & patterns!

Happy 80th!

My Papa turned 80 the end of September and we all gathered to celebrate! For those that haven't had the opprotunity to meet him, he is an outspoken, got an answer for everything kind of man! He has a huge heart and all though he can push your buttons with his old cowboy attitude he definately means no harm. So I had this huge cake in mind. And I was so excited to make it. Mostly fondent, which is my favorite to decorate with. But, Papa insisted on Chocolate on Chocolate so last minute everything changed to what you see. Not my favorite work but my Papa adored it! And expressed his appreciation to the point of "that's enough already!" I love him so much and he now has cake to last a month!

Simply Done

There is a funny story to this cake! And no it's not about the Bride and Groom, it's about my DOG! She nearly lost her LIFE! Basically I had a beautiful cake ready for the big day just needing a few additions to make it complete, and my 80 lb boxer decided she needed cake and she was going to somehow get it! Well, while I was out for a nice breakfast with a girlfriend of mine, Ali (my dog) make it through the barricade and onto the counter and ate my wedding cake! I don't think I have ever been so mad in my life!! Seriously!! All I can say is that I am so thankful it was for Boyd and Alecia's Wedding because they are so cool about last minutes changes! Needless to say I spent a full day in the kitchen baking and decorating up until the last minute! Not my most creative work but it got rave reviews! It's funny how sometimes the simplest designs get the best reviews! Even when there is some flaws here and there. What an experience!
